I love going on Road Trips. On the road to new destinations through a state I've never been to before is exciting.
I am a coaster junkie so heading to a theme park for the first time to ride the coasters is my favorite destination. I also love animals, visiting all the different zoos in each state I visit is a definite highlight of any road trip. Aquariums are a fantastic stop for me to see and learn about all the aquatic wildlife we share the world with.
The highways throughout the USA are filled with quirky road side attractions. From Ripleys Believe It Or Not to the unique stops, sometimes I don't know what I'll find until I see it.
I tend to start planning my road trips months in advance. So zi tend to have an idea where I'll be going to at each state I visit. At times something doesn't work out and that gives me a chance to check out a bonus attraction. The more road trips I go on, the more I want to do. Thanks for sharing my adventures with me.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park Full Tour - San Diego, California - Part One
The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is a zoo in the San Pasqual Valley area of San Diego, California, near Escondido. The park houses more than 3,000 animals representing over 300 species. It also includes a botanical garden with more than one million plants representing over 3,700 species. The park houses a large array of wild and endangered animals from every continent, except Antarctica. Located in a semi-arid climate, the area is noted for its year-round feeling of an African environment.
The zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). Its parent organization, the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, is a private nonprofit conservation organization, and has one of the largest zoological membership associations in the world. The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance also operates the San Diego Zoo.
Exhibits and attractions
Asian Savanna and African Plains
The park's largest exhibits, covering over 300 acres (120 ha),[16] are the open-range enclosures. Visitors view various plains habitats from Africa and Asia. Asian Savanna covers 60 acres (24 ha)
Tiger Trail
The Sumatran tigers, Denver and Rakan (male), Majel, Cathy, Debbie, and Diana, have three different exhibits, and there is a glass viewing window for visitors. After raising $19.6 million for the new exhibit ground was broken on December 12, 2012. The new exhibit is named the Tull Family Tiger Trail after movie producer Thomas Tull and his wife. Tiger Trail opened May 24, 2014. In August 2017, a Bengal tiger cub named Moka was rescued by border police from a car on the Mexican border and brought to the zoo.
Nairobi Village and Gorilla Forest
Originally a center for cultural events in the park, today Nairobi Village houses numerous exhibits for smaller animals. A large lagoon is home to numerous species of waterfowl, both foreign and native. Lorikeet Landing and Hidden Jungle display feedable lories and lorikeets, and African birds, respectively. There is a nursery where visitors can watch baby animals being hand-reared as well as a nearby petting corral. Finally, a habitat houses a troop of western lowland gorillas.
Hidden Jungle
Located in Nairobi Village, this climate-controlled indoor exhibit opened in 1993 and displays tropical African birds and insects. The entrance to the building is a simulated earthen crevasse with displays for stick insects, spiders, scorpions, insects, millipedes, lizards, and snakes. The underground segment opens up to a room representing the rainforest understory, which leads to a second room representing the canopy. On display are long-tailed paradise whydah, purple grenadier, red-crested turaco, African pygmy goose, beautiful sunbird and other birds.
Lion Camp
Opened in October 2004, Lion Camp houses the park's six African lions, Izu, Mina, Oshana and Etosha in a 1-acre (0.40 ha) exhibit. The park's two other lions, Ernest and Miss Ellen, were moved to the San Diego Zoo.
Condor Ridge
Condor Ridge displays endangered North American desert wildlife. The featured species are California condors and desert bighorn sheep.
African Woods and African Outpost
Formerly known as Heart of Africa, these are two of the park's major exhibits. Visitors go down a trail which replicates habitats in Africa. The exhibit begins in African Woods with scrub animals
Walkabout Australia
Walkabout Australia is the park's only Australia exhibit. It is 3.6 acres and guests can go inside an exhibit which features western grey kangaroos, red-necked wallabies, Australian brushturkeys, radjah shelducks, freckled ducks and magpie geese.
Gardens
The park also has extensive botanical gardens, many of which are their own attractions separate from the animal exhibits.

Hi Tom amazing video, I absolutely love this place but I've never been on the tram ride before I've done the Safari tour where you get to feed the animals. I'm really excited for part 2
I bet getting to feed the animals was fun. Perhaps I'll go back again in the future and partake in the other safari tours
I remember riding that as a kid. And at 36, I think I've been on one other roller coaster ever. Just can't handle drops.
This was such an uncomfortable coaster. I guess the kids don't know any better since it's most likely their first coaster
Great video by you, but the Henry Doorly Zoo has really turned to garbage. They got rid of the big cat complex and the bear canyon and honestly, I don't want to hear the excuse of "space" because those animals had plenty of space, at least in terms of living in a rent-free space. Would not recommend visiting. Literally the most interesting carnivore you will see there is the alligator but I assume you see those driving to work in Florida. Just adding this comment since I saw you complimented the zoo in the beginning. The safari is better but you'll need a really sturdy car
This wildlife safari is connected to the Henry Doorly Zoo. They are both operated by the same organization. I would have loved to see the cat complex. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Animals move to other facilities for various reasons. I do enjoy the Sun Bears, they are a fun sized

I’ve been to many zoos in the US. The best thing about The Great Plains Zoo is you can be in and out in a half hour. I grew up in Sioux Falls and it’s never been much of a zoo to brag about. Last time I was there 2 years ago with a school group a lot of the exhibits were closed. For the size of this city Sioux Falls should have something a lot better than this.

This is an amazing zoo
As a Iowa resident who has been going my whole life, it has went down hill ever since they got rid of the log ride and put the monster in, and since they got rid of ski lift which was in that little shack. It's great for roller coaster lovers and tiny kids, but not a lot of in between. It used to have amazing mint fudge at the front of the park. They do amazing first aid team.
Changes are inevitable at amusement parks, unfortunately not everyone likes some changes. Hopefully in the future they will add more rides that will be a good mix

We went there it's to sad none of the animals are getting taken care of so many things empty it was sad
Thankfully they are making improvements to the zoo since they received negative reviews from the USDA. What the zoo needs is support from the community, only then will the zoo become better

I think this person should know that these birds were in the movies Labyrinth and Legends of the Guardians the Owls of Gahoole. But the snowy Owl was in the Harry Potter books and movies.

There's never a reason to be rude to the animals, I always say Hello to them. I don't expect them to say anything back to me, unless they are a parrot. Sometimes when I talk to the animals they'll come closer to me. I can get better views of them and better shots with my camera, which means better views for You. By the way, if you've seen several of my tours, you'd know that is completely Normal for me
@@TomsRoadTrippin Your an old guy, so old guys should act normal. I'm in my 50s and married with 2 little boys and when I take them to the zoo I don't yell at the animals like you do. I go to each habitat and look at the animals and say wow look at that lion isn't he gorgeous to my self. And I'll take pictures or a video and move on to the next animal. I'm just helping you get older people that want to watch your content and the more that you act how your acting will drive people away not wanting to watch your content. I'm helping you get more subscribers!

Today is the *1* year anniversary of when this digital tour of Coney Island's Luna Park was uploaded! I haven't gone back to Coney Island since 2021. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, I went there every year from 2009 to 2019. I hope I can go back there soon! 🤓🤞
Since it's post-covid it's a great time to go back and see the updates. They had some construction going on when I was there.

TBO I don't remember as this was several years ago. I always try my best to get decent views of the animals for my tours

Hi Zachary, this was a fantastic zoo with several rare animals. I really enjoyed seeing the Peninsular pronghorn and San Clemente Island Goat. Of course they had Flamingo, so I was happy to see them
The bridge there was a ride called the raging river on the other side but a kid died so they closed it for legal reasons

@@TomsRoadTrippin people there r very friendly even when i went to australia melbourne zoo i was talking to them about tapirs n she said he passed away which is sad cause tapir n peccary r always my favs at the zoo i alway see them before leaving last time i saw her was 2014 that was my last trip to australia and 2023 was a very fun trip you'll love the zoo there they have zoo aquariums n wildlife parks
do they give out paper maps i always take a map when i go to a zoo
They don't recall if they had them or not. Most zoo's since the pandemic have gone paperless

It's all a part of the zoo experience, usually school groups. While they can be loud, they are usually very well behaved
When you go to zoos, what do you drink in your collectible cup? Their was an airport near by the zoo, I wonder if it stresses out the animals just hearing the airplanes go by?
If the attraction has unsweetened tea, that's my main beverage of choice. I'm sure the animals are used to the noise but new animals would certainly be stressed
